		Research areas Dr Kennan works on the pathogenesis of the ovine footrot pathogen Dichelobacter nodosus. Her current research is focused on genes identified in the Dichelobacter nodosus genome sequencing project as possible virulence factors. These genes include possible adhesins that may be involved in the initial attachment of the bacteria to host tissue and also genes encoding regulatory systems that may regulate known virulence factors such as the fimbriae and proteases.
