Professor Jim Pittard AM FAA (Chair) is a microbial geneticist with an abiding interest in the regulation of gene expression, transport of small molecules across membranes and the molecular genetics of plasmids and their role in evolution.
		He is currently an Emeritus Professor at the University of Melbourne where for a number of years he alternated with Professor David White as Head of the Department of Microbiology (now Microbiology and Immunology).
