		Research areas Radhika Bantwal’s supervisors are Dr. Trudi Bannam and Professor Julian I. Rood. The overall aim of her project is to contribute to the understanding of the mechanism of conjugation of conjugative plasmids of Clostridium perfringens. The transfer region on a prototype conjugative plasmid pCW3 has been identified based on the sequence analysis and designated as the transfer clostridial plasmid (tcp) region. Radhika’s project focuses on three of the genes identified on the tcp region designated tcpC, tcpG and tcpI.
